The Edge Sports Lab Liability Waiver & Rules Acknowledgment
I understand that participation in baseball, softball, basketball, batting cage use, pitching-machine use, throwing, hitting, running, training activities, and use of The Edge Sports Lab facility involves inherent risks. These risks may include, but are not limited to, being struck by balls, bats, or equipment; falls; collisions; slips; trips; equipment malfunction; improper use of equipment; contact with nets, screens, turf, walls, doors, or other facility surfaces; and other injuries, including serious injury.
I voluntarily assume these risks for myself and for any minor participant for whom I am the parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult. I understand that The Edge Sports Lab is a private rental facility and that adult supervision is required for minors at all times. I agree that all participants and guests must follow posted facility rules, booking rules, written instructions, and safety instructions.
I understand that no live pitching is permitted at The Edge Sports Lab. Players, coaches, parents, or other adults may not pitch to live hitters under any circumstances. Hitting is limited to tee work, soft toss, approved adult front toss, or approved pitching-machine use.
I understand that bats may only be used in designated hitting areas. Bats may not be swung in the basketball area, waiting area, entry area, open floor, or any other non-designated area unless that area has been specifically approved as a netted hitting station.
I understand that pitching machines, ball feeders, motors, wheels, cords, nets, screens, bats, balls, and other facility equipment may involve moving parts, pinch points, impact risk, electrical risk, trip hazards, and other dangers if used improperly. Minor participants may not operate, adjust, feed, move, unplug, plug in, climb on, or touch pitching machines, ball feeders, motors, wheels, cords, controls, nets, screens, or other facility equipment unless specifically permitted and directly supervised by an approved adult.
I understand that all hitters must wear a batting helmet while hitting in the batting cage, using a pitching machine, or participating in any activity where pitched, thrown, or batted balls may create a head or face injury risk. Batting helmets with face guards or face shields are strongly recommended and may be required, including for adult participants.
I understand that adults can also be injured by balls, bats, machines, nets, screens, slips, falls, and equipment misuse. Adults who hit, feed balls, operate equipment, catch, assist, or participate in activities are responsible for using appropriate protective gear and following all facility safety rules.
I understand that temporary access codes may only be used during the approved rental window and may not be shared. I agree to return equipment, remove trash, clean up after use, and make sure the door is locked when leaving.
I understand that unsafe conduct, live pitching, swinging bats outside designated areas, misuse of equipment, failure to supervise minors, sharing access codes, or violation of facility rules may result in immediate termination of the rental without refund.
To the fullest extent permitted by Ohio law, I release and agree not to bring claims against The Edge Sports Lab, its owners, members, employees, contractors, agents, representatives, successors, and assigns for injuries, damages, losses, or claims arising out of or related to participation in activities, use of the facility, use of equipment, or presence on the premises, including claims based on ordinary negligence.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Edge Sports Lab, its owners, members, employees, contractors, agents, representatives, successors, and assigns from claims, damages, costs, or expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, arising out of my actions, the actions of any participant or guest I bring to the facility, failure to supervise minors, misuse of equipment, violation of facility rules, or unauthorized sharing or use of access codes.
